The Department of History at Florida International University is searching for an open rank tenure-track or tenured (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) in modern Cuban history (post-1895 period). A Ph.D. in History or related field is required and must be in-hand by August 12, 2022. The candidate will teach a regular 2-2 load and contribute to the Department’s undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as its strengths in Latin America, the Caribbean, and the Atlantic. The person hired may also find community amongst colleagues working in numerous initiatives and centers across campus, including the African and African Diaspora Studies Program, the Cuban Research Institute, CasaCuba, the Kimberly Green Latin American and Caribbean Center, Wolfsonian Public Humanities Lab, the Digital Library of the Caribbean, and the Department of History’s Public History Program, among others.
