Arte Sin Fronteras: The Evolution of a Houston Graffiti Artist

Arte Sin Fronteras: The Evolution of a Houston Graffiti Artist is a full art installation by Mario E. Figueroa, Jr., artistically known as GONZO247. GONZO247 is a multidisciplinary international artist who was born and raised in Houston, Texas and is heavily influenced by his hispanic heritage, the hip hop culture, especially graffiti. The exhibition reflects and analyzes the evolution of his journey through layers of time. Pivotal, and personal historical moments in time are translated into works of art using spray painted acrylic layers; a concept he calls Plexigraff. Arranging past works juxtaposed with current painted plexiglass work, the artist peels back the layers of time and discovery to reveal a road less traveled as a Houston graffiti artist.

Opening reception is Saturday, March 30,2019 from 6 – 9 pm. During Latino Art Now! 2019 Conference an Artist talk and social will take place on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 6 – 10 pm. GONZO247 will invite artists and influences from his past to join the conversation. Closing reception is Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 6 – 9 pm.
