Jennif(f)er Tamayo
May 3, 2019 - May 5, 2019
JT [(Jennif(f)er Tamayo)] is a queer, latinx writer and performer. For Latino Art Now! and CounterCurrent19, JT will explore the visuality of poetry-as-performance in collaborative workshops and presentations with the University of Houston community. In her multipart intervention, JT will examine the body as a site of ancestral knowledges with questions about the violent legacies of slavery and settler colonialism that haunt the present and the specificity of place. JT is the author of [Red Missed Aches] (Switchback, 2011), Poems are the Only Real Bodies (Bloof Books 2013) and YOU DA ONE (2014/15 reprint Noemi Books & Letras Latinas).
