Grab your lunch and join us for another Library Lunch Hour on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2022 at 12 PM EST! Centro Library Manager, Aníbal Arocho will be joined by Archivist Juber Ayala to explore the Newark Public Library Archives’ New Jersey Hispanic Research & Information Center (NJHRIC)!

Founded by the Newark Public Library in 2002, the NJHRIC addresses the informational needs of the state’s diverse Hispanic communities, from the newly arrived monolingual immigrant to the English dominant scholarly researcher. It consists of three components: the Sala Hispanoamericana, the Hispanic Reference Collection, and the Puerto Rican Community Archives. Mr. Ayala has worked extensively with both Centro collections and the Puerto Rican Community Archives and will speak about some of the commonalities and connections across the collections and answer questions about resources available for research at the NJHRIC. Want to explore more? Be sure to RSVP for this Library Lunch Hour below!

Aníbal Arocho is the Library Manager at the Center for Puerto Rican Studies Library & Archive at CUNY Hunter College. He manages library reference services and a growing collection of over 18,000 items. He holds a Masters of Science in Library and Information Science from the Pratt Institute.
