Established in 2005, Siglo XXI is the leading national forum for the examination of research, trends and developments in the field of Latino Studies bringing together faculty, scholars, researchers, and graduate students to explore the impact of national issues on the Latino/a populations and the broader society and to shed light into their current state in the United States. In October 2025, the University of Nevada Reno, one of the IUPLR member institutions, hosted the 7th Biennial Siglo XXI Conference, which will honor the career and legacy of Dr. Gilberto Cárdenas.
